Thinking too much

On the radio in the car this morning, I heard a psychic tell a listener that she was a very spiritual person, but that she thought too much and tried to reason everything with logic.  Her theory was that spirituality and logic dont mix, and that for success in life this woman needed to stop thinking so much about things and just 'go with the flow'.

Blue_glass_ball Now, I dont know whether I agree with her about logic and spirituality not mixing.  But there are certainly times when I let logic rule, and dont follow what my heart is telling me - especially when I think too much with my head.

Our family are currently debating whether to get a dog (or more to the point, a pair of 'rescue' dobermanns who are 12 months old).  And I am all for it.  Lots of great reasons to get a dog.  And a pair would be good as they would keep each other company when we couldnt be with them.  Then last night at the dinner table, as the discussion went round and round the table - the last vote was 3:2 for.  Only the 2 against cheated and voted many times :0)

And then my brain switched on, and I started thinking about the work, and the expense and the fact that we arent fully fenced and would this electronic containment system work effectively... and discovered that I was no longer as keen as I was.  I was over-thinking and talking myself out of it, and not necessarily for the right reasons.  (shhh dont tell the others - they'd all be on my back!!)

Are there areas of your life, your career, where you think too much?  Where you let the work or the cost outweigh the benefits??
