Hi, I'm Karen Wallace. I have over twenty years experience in the corporate world, with particular emphasis on career consulting, process design, change management, service delivery, customer satisfaction and recruitment, with a little sales and marketing thrown in for good measure.
My professional career has given me insight into the many challenges facing women today. I have personal experience with issues such as career transitions, personal and professional reinvention, return to work, working from home, balancing home and personal life with work responsibilities, the challenges of getting (and staying) organised, finding work/career path that matches values as well as abilities, staying fit and healthy, financial challenges, the need to maintain relationships, community and support networks, and answering the question - "is this all there is?"
I live on two acres of 'bush' in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland with my husband and our three children and two new puppies.
I am a self-confessed book addict, play the piano, love walking, yoga, watching waves pound onto a rocky shore, good wine, being in nature and growing a garden, spending time with family and friends and the occasional craft project when time allows. I get obsessive about the curlews nesting in our paddock, magnificent music, beautiful artworks, catching up with good friends, correct spelling, clearing out the clutter and living in inspirational surroundings.
The Clearing Space, launched in 2003, has grown out of my passion to help women find out how wonderful it can be when they have a career that they absolutely love; how empowering it is to redesign their professional and personal lives to fit like a glove; and how creating space in their lives is like a welcome mat for new and exciting possibilities.
